Few weeks early this month was held one of the key events for the tourist industry- the fair in Norway. The participants represented parts from all over the world took place on the exhibitions trying to promote its destination as more as it could be. Besides the fact that the completion on such fairs is ruthless the Scandinavian market itself is quite attractive market segment. Portugal was one of the destination that took participation with its own stand trying to impress visitors with lavish Algarve hotels and beautiful nature. Unfortunately Spain is still having the larges market share on the Scandinavian segment and it seams that step back easily.

In the past the Algarve regional was mostly inhabited with fisherman. This somehow determined the local cuisine and the codfish as one of the national dishes. Each of the parts of the world have its unique traditional dishes for Christmas dinner here in Algarve it is the codfish with boiled potatoes. The local cuisine not only in the fine restaurants in the different cities but also in Algarve hotels is based on fish, shellfish, octopus and other sea food. In the interior regions of the Portugal it is not exactly the same as the chicken is the preferred meat. In general the nowadays traditional cuisine is a combination between the food from the coast areas and interior one.

In order to present in the best way this place in Portugal I will stick more to the geographical matter, because sometimes this could be a useful tools for many unknown place tourist. Algarve area is mainly surrounding by undaunted hills and rich valleys, which are describing one amazing new world covering with shining seasides and ocean views. All these hills and valleys are sustaining an area of 5412 square kilometers area. As every unique shiny place, this one is no exception of including awesome small islands being able to give a full freedom and privacy. I personally live for such moments.
