The garden was initially build in 1762 in the city center but was quite far from the way it look in the present days. On the place where it was initially found now is situated the New Museum Site.

In 1846 the garden was moved to the place where it could be found today thanks to the efforts of John Henslow after he accept the chair of Botany. This was the time when the project started and the garden was planted with thousands of plants of course this was not the end. In 1951 the garden was renovated and become closer to the appearance its present appearance. Besides the beauty of the plants the garden is very well arranged with alleys, fountain and the Glasshouse range closer to the north side. One day spend in that remarkable place will full fill you will energy for long time. In case you want to enlarge the pleasure you can book yourself some of the Cambridge hotels around the place.
